Ordsall Hall

Project Name – Ordsall Hall, Salford

Main Contractor – Lambert Walker

Works – HT were contracted to provide a full access and temporary roof scaffold. The main contractor’s brief was to provide a scaffold that fully encapsulated the building with internal access and protection to the main hall area.

Materials

Design – The design had to take into account that very limited physical ties could be fixed in to the building façade, the full external elevation’s was completely free standing and had kenteledge placed along the full length of the scaffold. The temporary roof frame was built progressively over a loading bay on the gable end and the full frame was rolled in to position already sheeted. The internal protection scaffolds could not be erected from the existing floors and had to be supported using alloy modular beams spanning through the building from the front to the rear transferring all the loads back down to the ground.
